Deep tone and plays nice with wound gut strings.

Pros: Produces a lovely deep open C on my 14.25" Helen MIchetschlager cornerless viola when I draw the bow 'cello' style. It works seamlessly with the high quality G, D and A wound gut violin strings on my instrument. When playing a scale on the C string using a viola hold, I was able to get a nicer tone in fourth position nearer the bridge with the edge of the bow than with my previous two C strings. I am very impressed with this string.
Cons: Corelli viola strings for a viola with a violin vibrating string length are not available in my Country.
Other: The two previous C strings were very high quality wound gut viola strings in heavy gauge, to make up for the shorter string length. But my viola's string length is really too short. The tone was darker, richer and more complex but much slower to speak in first position. Fourth position fingering and bowing was a battle that I lost.
