A good string for the enthusiastic amateur
Pros:
they are really hard-wearing. my last set lasted twenty years! I use them on a modern (1986) handmade instrument.
Cons:
They sound quite twangy and brash to begin with but after a few weeks are settling nicely.

I'm delighted with the string tone & sound.
Pros:
After a short bedding in period the strings are producing a wonderful tone & just in time for a Mahler concert!

Pros:
These are good 'all rounders' and are one of the few strings that fit the bigger instrument with a longer string length. Always keep a bunch of these to hand, and the price is not prohibitive.
Cons:
The A isn't to my taste..far too bright. The bright characteristic of these strings may not suit all musical tastes.
