Pros: Blue suede like case for protection
Cons: Nothing
Other: The only rosin I've bought that hasn't broken/cracked early on. My last Gustave Bernadel rosin lasted whole until less than half inch thickness remained

Pros: The cakes glossy finish easily wore without needing to mark or score the rosin, allowing easy aplication to the bow. It seems to be a hard and very fine powder with very little stick giving finer control of the interaction of the bow and strings. What little dust there is lifts from the face of my viola very easily, and wipes off the strings with little effort too. The packaging slots nicely under the neck of my viola in the case, protecting the cake of rosin, and my instrument, from eachother.
Cons: None.
Other: I would reccomend this as a great upgrade from the bundled cake of rosin that comes with beginners instrument sets for VN or VC. I don't know if it would be suitable for VC or DB use.

Pros: Optimally applied, this leaves virtually no dust with a light, easily removed, coating on the string. Good bite and little scratch on high E.
Cons: The manufacturer has a label in French on the wallet warning of possible allergic reactions.
Other: A soloist/recitalist/leader might possibly choose an alternative.

Pros: This rosin was recommended to me and it works beautifully. It is not as sticky as my previous (dark) rosin and does not adhere to the strings to the same extent. Nevertheless, it does give good grip and does not make much dust.
Cons: There are no bad points.
