DISASTER!
2 out of 3 found the following review helpful

Pros: NOTHING IT IS AWFUL!

Cons: Where do I start? Barely lasting 3 days.........sound....read comments below

Other: I buy a lot of cello strings from The String Zone and they always provide a great service! I have tried out many different brands. I have just bought a 5 string cello and set it up with a Helicore E string. 3 days later,ie today, the string is at the point in snapping above the nut. It has frayed disasterously. I am NOT impressed. THIS IS THE WORST STRING THAT I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO BUY AND PLAY ON It makes a pathetic, tinny sound that does not blend wth, or have the same quality as my other 4 strings, which are not Helicore! Helicore violin strings are great, which is why I thought that I would buy it, but this cello E is unacceptable and I am asking for a replacement of another brand. Quite clearly, this one is just not acceptable!

AT LAST A GOOD SOUNDING E STRING FOR 'CELLO
2 out of 3 found the following review helpful

Pros: The best thing about it is that finally a good 'cello E string actually exists!! I've spent months looking and very few music "experts" know of the existence of these strings. Plays and sounds fine - much much better than single guitar strings! The full size string works fine on my half size folk 'cello and I've already recommended many other to give this a try.

Cons: NO PROBLEMS

Good option in a limited market.
2 out of 4 found the following review helpful

Pros: Price. Nice tone.

Cons: Durability. But I have yet to find a cello E string that lasts well.

Other: I wish more choice of E strings were available, but of those on the market this is a great option. Good value and pleasing tone/responsiveness.
