Brilliant
7 out of 7 found the following review helpful

Pros: These strings are fantastic and provide a warm sonerous bass and powerfull and sweet upper register. These strings transformed my violin from a plain not very interesting violin to a violin which is a joy to play. They have lasted for well over 2 months and seem to have much more life in them. And a bonus is they come with a gold e string which would cost £7 it's own and whats more it doesn't have the fatal floor of so many other gold plated strings of snapping after only a few hours of playing.

Cons: None

I'd recommend these strings

Pros: Lovely warm full tone - especially good for ensemble/orchestral playing (violin).

Cons: Slightly more expensive than the usual Dominant strings I buy, but definitely worth it.

Genuinely make a difference - excellent strings
6 out of 7 found the following review helpful

Pros: Bought for a Mittenwald Lion-headed fiddle (used for fiddling) which has a rather hard, even harsh tone with Dominants and Visions. The difference these strings have made is remarkable. The only exception is the E-string which although gold plated and clearly a quality item doesn't quite match - I suspect that it's the fiddle. To be honest once you're onto these strings you're looking for a solution to a specific issue and generally these address it well.

Cons: I don't know if it would be better to buy the 3 lower strings and go with a different E, say, a wound one. You'd have to experiment with your specific instrument.

Other: Although more expensive than some good alternatives, these genuinely address the issue they're supposed to at no huge extra cost. They have the reputation for lasting well too, so if the alternative is expensive remedial work on your violin they are well worth a try.

Infeld red strings and their amazingness!
6 out of 7 found the following review helpful

Pros: The sound quality of the string is very good, i am very pleased with my new strings, They take a while to settle down but it's worth the wait for such a smooth sound.

Cons: They take a while to settle down and stay in tune but it's worth the wait for such a high quality sound.

Other: I would say that the service from Stringzone is expetional, the delievry is quick and prompt, i wouldn't hesitate to use them again

Highly recommended for Tradional/Folk fiddle music
6 out of 8 found the following review helpful

Pros: I purchased Infeld Red violin strings. SET on the advice of violin maker and restorer who did some work on my composite Duke violin. Since I play traditional Irish music he suggested that these would suit the violin and my style of music. He was absolutely right and I am really pleased with the Infeld red having tried many others. They didn't take long to settle and the tone is rich and dark with the E giving a clarity I didn't have before.

Cons: I am now using Infeld Red violin strings for two weeks and to date I have no complaints whatsoever.

Nice sound - but
2 out of 2 found the following review helpful

Pros: Sound nice and warm, G and D especially.

Cons: They don't come with any bit of tube on either the A or the E to prevent the strings from digging into the bridge. I have managed to re-use the bit of tube off my old A, but the one off the old E won't pass over the wrapping of the new string. This has meant that I've had to knock something up temporarily with a bit of thick paper whilst I await some very pricey bits of vellum. This simply isn't good enough on strings that cost so much money; it's really penny-pinching.

Pros: Feel a bit more direct than dominants and Larsen's. Have really brought out the tone in my violin. Definitely a lot louder than the Larsen's

Cons: The E is very easy to whistle
