Perfect for jazzers on a budget
3 out of 3 found the following review helpful

Pros: These are the only "budget" strings even considering. Budget might be doing them a disservice as they have their own unique quality which makes them worth considering. Bright, loud and thin ( easy on the fingers) I like their direct attack . Not dark, not very old school they are perfect for a pizzicato jazzer using an underwood type pick up.

Cons: Not enough bass wood in the sound if that makes any sense at all!

Pros: These strings are great for both arco and pizzicato, highly recommended.

Cons: Tension higher than expected but an improvement on the Rotosound set I'd used previously.

Thomastik Superflexible: sorted!

Pros: New strings are gorgeous! These strings are good for both pizz and arco.

Cons: Can't quibble for the price.

Other: Good service from Stringzone! When I phoned to make a small query on my order the lady was polite, knowledgeable, and was able to tell me exactly how my order stood. Will definitely use again.

Keen Amateur

good strings cost less at The String Zone
2 out of 2 found the following review helpful

Pros: beautiful rich tone, fairly kind on the fingers (I play jazz)

Cons: the price in the shops, and the fact that at the rate I play - the rich tone starts to decay after fifteen months

Other: I ticked keen amateur above, but I am a semi pro busking bass player who appreciates a rich tone
