Very useable violin shoulder rest.

Pros: This is a very height-adjustable shoulder rest. The padded part is broader than some others and is very stable on the shoulder. They can be moulded to fit most shoulders and violins. It is also collapsible so fits most cases. I have been using the Forte Primo for many year and most of my pupils also use this model (although some have the secondo.)

Cons: Slightly broader than some others, but I prefer this.

Versatile and simple design

Pros: Highly adjustable without the need for tools or gizmos. Easy to fit to instrument and easily adjusted round the instrument to fit body contour.

Cons: Slightly hard on shoulder, perhaps in need of a little padding.

Pros: I like the Wolf Forte Primo violin shoulder rest quite a lot and this one replaced one I probably had for the last 10 years Sadly a crack had started to develop at the corner of the support. The reason I am writing about this is to highlight Stringzone's excellent service. I realised the damage on a Friday and was due to travel early the next morning to the Peak District for a music week. I had ordered the replacement shoulder rest at 11.00 p.m. that Friday and I was absolutely gob-smacked when it arrived early on Monday morning. It made playing my violin much easier and helped to enhance my enjoyment of the week quite considerably. I had initially looked at Amazon for a new shoulder rest, but they quoted a delivery time of at least 7 days. For that reason I would recommend string zone any time just for the marvellous service I had received.

Cons: No cons.

Comfortable, sturdy, built to last

Pros: I find this shoulder rest very comfortable. I've been using this model since I was a kid; this is only the third of these that I've had in 30 years and I play quite a lot. I say it's very sturdy and built to last.

Cons: Nothing.

Other: Brilliant service from The String Zone as usual, delivered quickly and for a good price.

I fully recommend this rest to all standards.

Pros: I've always liked the straight Wolf rests. This was fine for 3/4 (ten year old student) after we worked out that one side of one end has a little tab that prevents it from tipping over. It folds completely flat which is very useful.

Cons: Probably grips better on a full sized violin.

Excellent, highly adjustable rest.

Pros: Finally I've found the shoulder rest that suits me, and my very narrow shoulders and long neck. I started off with the Kun and never found it comfortable, despite trying it with the extra long feet. Also tried the Wolf Secondo, but could never get it quite right, it seemed just a bit too wide for my shoulders. The primo has the perfect combination for me - the straight style of the Kun but with a high degree of flexibility - i've been able to bend this quite significantly to make the perfect 'hook' for my shoulder, and the feet can be adjusted to the perfect height. Really pleased with this rest.

Cons: No cons for me.

Other: A big thumbs up to the String Zone for consistently good service.
