Medium scale, medium tension string. Chromesteel on steel core. For all violas from 15" to 16.5" back length with a playing scale of 36-39cm.

Recommended for violas with a playing scale of 35-38cm which covers most violas of back length 15-16.5 inches

resonance and ease of use in the upper registers

Pros: Surprisingly resonant and symathetic to my relatively mellow viola. I have always had difficulty finding A strings which would resonate in the upper register, and much to my delight this fits the bill.

Maybe best viola A string of all

Pros: Smooth, buttery sound; no shrieking. At least as good, and probably a little warmer, than the best A string I'd found before trying this.

Cons: Not cheap, but I've yet to find an inexpensive A string that wasn't harsh.
