Pros:
Having used a Tourte mute for years and regularly suffered the irritation of it working loose and rattling around on the instrument whilst playing, this magnetic mute is a revelation! The base clip easily slots onto the tailpiece without any risk of damage or marking the instrument. The mute is then held in place by the magnet which does not allow the mute to work loose during playing. When the mute is needed it is easily moved away from the magnet and vice versa. The mute function whilst playing is totally satisfactory.
Cons:
Cannot find anything to fault with this mute.

A neat clever design that does a very good job.
Pros:
This is easily the best mute I have owned. Its easy to fit, has a nice tone when in use, but perhpas best of all the discrete little magnet makes sure that when stowed it doesn't wander along the strings and get in the way and there is never any buzzgin.
Cons:
Nothing to say against it at all...

A very good product and quite innovative
Pros:
Very good quality- easy to put on and the magnet works really well, stopping the mute rattling when not in use.
Cons:
Slightly harder to slide onto the bridge than other mutes

A good idea, but check your tail-piece!
Pros:
Neat and light-weight; does not damage the winding on the strings.
Cons:
See 'Other comments' below.
Other:
It is important to remember to check your tail-piece. If you have no adjusters (fine tuners), or if your tail-piece has integrated adjusters, it will be fine. If you have Wittner adjusters (or similar), the magnet clip arrangement will not work. The magnet will fit on the tail-piece OK, but it will not extend beyond the adjusters for the mute to attach to it.

Pros:
Very easy to attach magnetic clip onto instrument, and fit the mute itself.
Cons:
Perhaps the lip of the actual mute itself is a little larger than usual, and taking it off the bridge can sometimes require more effort.

very useful, but quite pricey
Pros:
slides silently over bridge, stores neatly against its magnetic clip which avoids it rattling as you play.
Cons:
as it's made of soft rubber, the holes which clip it to the strings stretch over time. Eventually the mute can fall off and be easily lost.

Nearly £6 for a few millimetres
Pros:
It is quick to put on and holds the mute part in place when not in use, even when the instrument is drooping
Cons:
price: it cost £7.20, compared with the non-magnetic kind at £1.22. Does the tiny magnetic part really cost £5.98?
