Keen Amateur
Strong as steel, rich as gut, a brilliant c string
Pros: This string is fabulous. Tried on a late 18th century viola, 41cm, I wasn’t sure if a gut c would work at all because an Olive doesn’t work at all but this Passione feels as strong as a steel string but with all the overtones and some softness of gut. It’s not difficult at all, response is as good as with a Jargar or Obligato c which I used before and that’s probably due to the Tungsten winding which seems a great combination. Earlier I tried a “strong” Passione c which did work but wasn’t necessary at all as it was a bit stiff. The medium one works perfectly fine and the evenness within a complete set is very nice.
Cons: Nothing.
