Formerly named 'Tartini Green' rosin made by 'Cremona in America.'
A Piacere has the exact same formula as the Tartini GREEN, which provides effortless bow control with even sound production.
Starting in spring 2020, Cremona in America will be replacing the name ANDREA with CECILIA. There is no change in the rosin formulas whatsoever.
Please note this rosin is now rebranded as Cecilia but is otherwise unchanged in its formulation.

Pros: The rosin itself has made a difference to the tone - much better.
Cons: Unfortunately the rosin was cracked on arrival, but I am still using it as it seems to be stuck well to the box. Probably should have had better packing for the journey!

Try the Cecilia rosin
Pros: I am actually using it for a violin - Don Tatem from Cardiff, wjth a good and obedient bow. I did originally buy it for my viola. It gives the instrument an absolutely huge volume, and sweet tone, stabilises the bow so nothing fails. It improves the effect to use the "comb" supplied with the rosin for distributing into the bow hairs.
Cons: Important not to overdose. Also important to clear the strings of rosin between sessions.
Other: Very different effect from other rosins.

A nice rosin - worth a try
Pros: Compact, durably housed in a minimalist but attractive case. Rosin itself is on the stickier/softer spectrumn and makes a good sound. Dust is minimal. Two or three strokes is sufficient for an hour or so of playing, but there appears to be a rather steep drop off in performance when it 'runs out'. I like this rosin a lot.
Cons: Running bow hair along the included rosin spreader produces a squeaky sound and I'm mildly concerned that regular usage will prematurely wear the bow hair. I'm not yet convinced it makes a big difference to rosin application ie. removes excess rosin / eveningly redistributes rosin through the hairs. The jury is still out on this one.

Viola rosin for violin that improves playing.
Pros: I meant to buy this instead of the A A Piacere violin rosin (which I like very much) Ultimately, this is the one for violin players although it is specifically made for the viola. The simple difference is that it is stickier and, for me, this adds just that little bit extra and helps to improve my playing.
Cons: None
