Description

Multi stranded steel core strings. Medium tension.

Helicore violin strings are crafted with a multi-stranded steel core, resulting in optimal playability while producing a clear, warm tone. The smaller string diameter provides quick bow response. Premium quality materials combined with skilled workmanship produces strings known for excellent pitch stability and longevity.

Very popular string, particularly suited to electric instruments and those who prefer the bright, quick tone of metal strings.

Using a loop end E? The use of a protector to prevent the tuner hook breaking the string is essential with loop end E strings. We cannot accept claims for strings broken by the adjuster hook. Click here to purchase this item.

Excellent strings

Pros: Quick break in time. Really responsive. Great strings!

Cons: I find the D strings wear quickly but it might just be my fiddle and the external conditions.

Great strings for a folky!

Pros: These strings are long lasting and seem to stay 'bright'. They are good value compared to other more expensive strings I have used.

Cons: I don't have any comments here.

Other: The company responded quickly and efficiently.

Great sounding strings. Great service.

Pros: They give me the sound and playability I like for my ability and the music I play (intermediate / traditional). I have not tried too many other types but what I have tried didn't work out for me.

Cons: 'A' string prone to wear around the 'b' fingering. I haven't workout why yet but I know this happens with other makes of string for other players

Warm tonal quality & long life: value for money!

Pros: Quick response, soft feel fingering similar to gut, powerful warm tone with good projection & they wear well without loss of sound quality!

Cons: Sound a little edgy for first week!

Other: My favourite fiddle (Scottish 1906) was strung with Helicore strings at the outset, since then I've tried a variety of other more expensive strings & am now back to the Helicore strings which answer to all my demands!!

Great folk/jazz strings 'A' string not as durable

Pros: My favourite strings for irish/scottish folk fiddle. Great for Gypsy jazz. loud and flexible.

Cons: Often disappointed at 'A' string stripping at first position

Other: Should come with spare 'A' string

A good work horse of a string.

Pros: Competetive price. Stronger tone than Pirastro - at least under the ear, and very responsive. Strings settle in very quickly with little stretching. Fairly true across 5ths at first though this deteriorates with age.

Cons: G varies considerably in tone from string to string and sometimes has to be abandoned. Expensive when that happens. Though little initial stretching, still takes a while for strings -especially D and G to become mellow/pliable. Mr experience - strings break without warning.
