Special aluminium winding to reduce open E 'whistles' with a warm, rich tone that blends well with all types of lower strings.
Ball end only. Adapter for loop type adjusters included.

No other 'E' string works for me.
Pros: The only 'E' string which doesn't set up a high pitched whistling frequency on being approached in a legato slur from the 'A' string.
Cons: The lack of a proper loop end option.
Other: The packet and serial number is not easily differentiated from the ordinary 'E' string. They are so similar that two retailers have recently supplied me with the incorrect ones.

Pros: Sounds fine, lasts well, does not whistle on open string.
Cons: I tried an Evah which sounded better still on stopped notes when new, but it whistled like mad, so I quickly went back to the Kaplan. No regrets.

Smooth crossing
Pros: I always use this string as it is very good for crossing on to an open E which is usually the way in the playing of traditional 2/4 'pipe Marches.
Cons: Sometimes I have spent more time changing strings due to the adapter but it's worth it.
