Description

The 'Lupot' style bow has been recreated by Brasilian maker J Pereira. A strong round stick weighing 60g. Each one of these bows has been individually selected by The String Zone. Due to the current CITES restrictions placed on the use and sale of Brazilian Pernambuco wood, L'Archet Brasil spent time investigating and experimenting with bow making in more sustainable timbers, and are now using a type of Mexican Pernambuco. These woods are not endangered and do not come under the CITES restrictions yet retain the characteristics of a traditional Brazilian Pernambuco stick. L'Archet Brasil believes that sustainability means creating an economic system that provides for quality of life while renewing the environment and its resources. For this reason, they created the L’archet Brasil Pernambuco wood project. In collaboration with Manoel Francisco and other bow makers, they have already planted thousands of pernambuco trees.
