Warm and beautiful tone.

Pros: A refined warm tone and so comfortable under the fingers.

Cons: With gut G, D and A, it does not allow the guts to resonate to their fullest extent. Replacing the Gold Label E after 2 weeks with a Jarger Forte E, it sounded like a totally different violin. Perhaps synthetic cored strings go better with the Pirastro E.

Works well with Dominant. Reliable.

Pros: I use this E string with dominant G, D and A. It has a good projection, nice ring and very rarely whistles. Never broke any of those either and always lasted as long as my complementary dominant.

Cons: None I can think of.

Other: Great service from Stringzone as usual. Good packaging and fast service.

Good as ever
1 out of 1 found the following review helpful

Pros: A lovely, lyrical sound, avoiding the harshness of some E strings

Cons: Is there new labelling? I have had Pirastro Gold before. I know you also do a 'real' gold string but thought they were under the same lable. Seperating them has confused me a bit. No complaints about the string itself though

Powerful and fuller sounding e string

Pros: Fuller sound matching dominant ADG, no more abrupt timbre change from A to E.

Cons: Not at the moment

Other: A little bit too powerful for home practising, my neighbours may not like it
