* All strings are ball end, unless otherwise specified.
A universal string of great quality suitable all types of instrument and player standard Obligato strings sound warm and full, yet have a brilliant, rich overtone spectrum and focused tone. Excellent playability and response throughout the entire dynamic range
Using a loop end E? The use of a protector to prevent the tuner hook breaking the string is essential with loop end E strings. We cannot accept claims for strings broken by the adjuster hook. Click here to purchase this item.

Pros: At last some strings I am really happy with! They have settled in quickly, the tone is bright enough but not too harsh with a good volume and resonance. I love the E. Definitely worth the extra money.
Cons: I can't think of any.
Professional
solution for cold/lean sounding violin

Pros: My violin is leaning towards neutral/cold and Obbligato adds warmth to the sound, it's very soft and gut sounding string, good for orchestra playing.
Cons: The A string is not good as it can not absorb bow impact hence it's hard to control. I realised that I am used to string tension like PI or Eva Pirazzi, I can't play in tune with Obligato, Obligato doesn't have enough tension for solo stuff when playing something dramatic, something that needs high bow impact or pressure.
Other: very good string if warmth or trying to project gut string sound, unfortunately not all-rounder enough for me, but will be happy to use them orchestra or Baroque music

Pros: I first used Obligato strings on the recommendation of Andrew Riley and I have been delighted with them ever since; they tune up quickly and stay in tune indefinitely, and help my violin produce a decent tone when I drive it properly. Good service from Andrew at The String Zone - promptly delivered and easy to order.
Cons: No drawbacks

Pros: really good sound, clear yet not too sharp on a coin mezin school violin. especially rich in the middle strings
Cons: i couldn't get the g string ball end to fit into my tail piece! - you have to light a 'bright' sound to like these (this might be a pro!)
Other: these are very good value strings because of the quality of sound
