Review of Thomastik Alphayue Cello String, A

Keen Amateur

Seems like a sensible reliable string

Pros: Description is accurate, it's a practical, stable, quite forgiving A string that is wound relatively thick, feels comfortable, is pleasant to play, and sounds pretty good.

Cons: It doesn't sound as delightful on my very basic instrument as the comparably priced Larsen Aurora. But it is a little easier to play with my ageing fingers, so I sound better, and it seems harder to break. (I bought it as a replacement after snapping an Aurora string.)
