No more sore neck!
Pros: Easy to fit and did what I hoped it would; made it possible to hold the violin under my chin without having to twist my head around to the unnatural angle it was constrained to by my previous chin rest. It was reasonably priced and looks good too, despite being plastic.
Cons: None

Very comfortable and better than the centre-mounte
Pros: A very comfortable chinrest that allows me to hold my fiddle over the tailpiece. I still suffer from the mark on my neck though but at least my shoulder doesn't ache. I've had to adjust the shoulder rest to make it as short as possible - I seem to have a short neck. I tried the centre-mounted one too but this was too high for my neck. I'd definitely recommend this for other short-necked fiddlers.
Cons: none so far
Other: Could do with a soft shaped pad but I'm using a piece of chamois leather to increase friction.

Brilliant
Pros: Oh so happy with this chin rest. I have tried quite a few. Get this in the right place and you do not realise it is there when playing. I have now bought one for my viola too. Both are the 'side' one. I would recommend it to all.
Cons: A tiny bit fiddly to put on the violin (not viola) but I think that was me not the item.

Just what I wanted!
Pros: Comfortable, position easily adjustable and very simple to fit
Cons: It's a little taller than it needs to be - bags of clearance over the tailpiece. I would have liked it height adjustable, Other than that, it ticked all the boxes!
Other: I wanted a chin rest that straddled the tailpiece to suit my style of playing and that's just what this model does. I now feel more at home with my fiddle - it suits me just fine.
