If you live in a remote area or have difficulty finding a good rehair we have the solution. We can rehair your bow to the highest standard with top quality white hair. We have many professional players who use our service and we are confident you will be very impressed with the results. The effect of a good rehair on tone production can be quite substantial.
- Leather Thumbpiece and/or Silver-Lapping work does NOT include a re-hair. A re-hair is priced separately.
- If you'd like these extra improvements made to your bow then please add them to your basket in ADDITION to the re-hair.
How it works:
ALL SERVICES INCLUDE A HEAVY DUTY BOW TUBE WITHIN THE COST, PLEASE ENSURE TO USE IT TO PREVENT DAMAGE IN TRANSIT
Place your order on this page. We will send you labels and a tube, enabling you to forward your bow to our workshop. We only accept bows in our heavy duty postal tubes. We recommend using either Royal Mail Special Delivery or a trackable Courier service e.g. via www.parcel2go.com. When the work is complete your bow will be returned to you by Special Delivery (included in the price), usually, in 7-10 days. Please call us on 01903 942630 if you require further details or advice.
If we consider additional work is advised or that the quality of the bow does not justify a rehair we will contact you to discuss this. If you require an estimate or quote for other work please contact us in advance.
Please note: we cannot work on any bows with clip-in, removable, re-hair systems. If you are at all unsure as to whether your bow is fit for us to work on, please contact us before sending your bow to the workshop.
We use white hair for our Bass bow re-hairs. Please be advised our bow tube will not fit a German style bass bow.

Pros: I am very impressed with my cello bow rehair and high quality replacement leather thumbpiece. The bow repairer suggested that I had a ‘leather to end’ as well - a thin piece of leather applied to the frog end of the bow stick to help preserve the maker’s name and to help safeguard against perspiration. I decided to have this done as my hands do tend to sweat when playing! I am delighted with the bow repairs and my overall experience of the bow rehair service from Stringzone, which was quick and convenient, using the tube requested. I shall certainly use this service from Stringzone again!
