Description
Good quality steel based string. Chromesteel on steel core. All sizes.
To check your instrument size measure the length of the back (LOB) excluding the 'button' which is the thumb shaped extension at the top where the neck is anchored. Old instruments can vary, if more than 1/2" over choose the next size up.

Pros: Very Bright sound and comfortable to play. The break-in time is also quick which is helpful for those who play regular sessions and concerts. Excellent price, you're really getting value for money here.
Cons: I was very disappointed with the Low G string provided..it's tension wasn't up to the same standard as the others and it left an unbalanced sound..This is something that I am very particular about as I have a preference towards tunes that keep on the lower register. I replaced the G with a string from a set of Helicore Medium tension strings by D'addario which settled nicely even though it's a different set which I try and recommend not to do.
Other: The String Zone is an excellent service and I intend to keep using it. Delivery time was very quick and Postage was very cheap..it's the best website I have used for strings and the customer service is quality.

Pros: Bought for my Grade 1 level daughter as I've always liked Pirastro strings for my Viola. Perfect for her (pretty rubbish) little violin, make a much more reasonable sound than the random strings it came with.
