Good 'All -rounders'
4 out of 5 found the following review helpful

Pros: These are good 'all rounders' and are one of the few strings that fit the bigger instrument with a longer string length. Always keep a bunch of these to hand, and the price is not prohibitive.

Cons: The A isn't to my taste..far too bright. The bright characteristic of these strings may not suit all musical tastes.

A good string for the enthusiastic amateur
4 out of 6 found the following review helpful

Pros: they are really hard-wearing. my last set lasted twenty years! I use them on a modern (1986) handmade instrument.

Cons: They sound quite twangy and brash to begin with but after a few weeks are settling nicely.

Good balance of tone and price
2 out of 3 found the following review helpful

Pros: Good consistent strings that last well and give good tone got the price.

Cons: The C String is probably the weak link in this set as it can be slow to speak. A small point.

Ideal for orchestral or solo.
2 out of 3 found the following review helpful

Pros: Sensitive, powerful.

Cons: Rather brash to start with (a week or so); starts to go a bit dull after a few months.

Other: I always return to Dominant having tried others. No more experiments now.

Dominant strings remain a excellent value

Pros: Limited playing after two broken bonrs left hand. Much better than I remeber frommany years back. Tonally and response good. Durability, too soon to say.

Cons: Generally good but wonder if A string could be stronger using a metal A rather than standard synthtic.
