* All strings are ball end, unless otherwise specified.
Evah Pirazzi Gold strings have a synthetic multifilament fibre core. They produce a brilliant, golden tone with a full-bodied and big sound from the very bottom to the top of the register.
The great dynamic range of these strings allows skilled players to explore both the finest nuances of quiet passages and create powerful sonorities when playing close to the finger-board or using a strong bow arm.
Very short break-in time, even shorter than Evah Pirazzi and Obligato, combined with a very high level of tonal stability in all climatic conditions
Choice of G string windings. Gold G-string: This G-string is wound with a pure gold wire. It offers a round and full tone. Silver G-string: very dynamic sound which emphasises a more brilliant tone
4 x variations of the set, loop or ball E , and then gold or silver G.
Stainless Steel E-string: It has an excellent response and generates a refined and smooth sound right to the very top of the register.
Multi strand synthetic core. Ball or loop end E. Ball end A, D & G. All strings are medium tension and full size.
Below Pirastro explain the difference between the 3 Evah Pirazzi Offerings
Evah Pirazzi (2000): This set of strings is characterized by an overtone-rich, rather bright sound and a relatively strong background noise, which ensures carrying capacity, power and projection.
Evah Pirazzi Gold (2012): In contrast, these strings are designed to emphasize the warm, round and somewhat darker sound spectrum.
Evah Pirazzi Neo (2025): In this new development, the background noise of the original Evah Pirazzi is reduced while maintaining the strings’ full carrying capacity and power. Evah Pirazzi Neo is designed to combine effortless note and string transitions with easy response, tonal clarity and far-reaching projection.

Faulty A strings, wear out fast, but great sound.
Pros: Beautiful sound. Strings settle quickly.
Cons: These wear out very fast. Also, I seem to have bought 2 faulty A strings in a row. Both have unravelled after just a few weeks. Very annoying as they are so expensive.

THESE STRINGS ARE WORTH 96 QUID A SET
Pros: The best strings I have encountered in 67 years of playing. Big tone, sonorous and comfortable on the fingertips.
Cons: The A string has still not settled after 3 weeks. In 2 days, it descends from A to F sharp. It is not peg slip as I have geared pegs.
Other: Stringzone is a delight to deal with.

A reliable investment
Pros: I find the Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Gold Violin Strings, SET, utterly dependable. Their sound quality is right for playing my violin of 1898, particularly for chamber music. Moreover, they settle to pitch very quickly - half a day's playing is sufficient. They will see me through at least a couple of years. Ordering the strings from local music shop would be very slow and hugely expensive. Ordering direct from the StringZone was the answer.

Favourite set of strings
Pros: -Beautiful sound that rings long after the note is played -Changed an entire set at once and the next day it was already staying in tune very well despite cold temperatures -Fast shipping, happy with the delivery and the product
Cons: -Pricey, but definitely worth it!

Not my cup of tea
Pros: The G string made my old English fiddle sound more powerful
Cons: The A and D strings sounded awful. I just couldn't get on with them and they didn't resonate well. Just sounded loud and harsh, very disappointing as they work really well on my old French viola
Other: Bottom line is you have to try them to know if they suit your instrument. No way of telling until you get them on and played in!

Evah Pirazzi Gold
Pros: Replaced my Evah Pirazzi set for the gold, impressed. Settled down within a few days and stay in tune well. Not so loud as the previous but with more overtones and sustain. The best set of strings for my violin, and I have certainly tried a few.
Cons: None
