Low tension version great for solving a bright A
Pros: This is a review of the low tension A string, chosen because the cello sounded slightly too bright on the A compared with the other strings. The Larsen 'soft' A cured the issue straight away, resulting in a more balanced tone across the whole instrument. Very happy.
Cons: It solved the brightness issue so no complaints, although it's clearly going to depend on the cello. If you want a warmer sounding string, this is ideal. If you want a bit more edge to the sound, then I would choose Larsen Il Canone as the best alternative.
Other: Also not quite as expensive as some other A strings now available.

A good all rounder
Pros: I chose the medium Larsen A string as I have previously used the strong which tended to sound too harsh for the upper register. The medium doesn't project quite as well as the strong however it is a more rounded sound with more depth and tone
Cons: Slightly less powerful than the strong
