Better on my cello than Larsen standard

Pros: So much more character than Larsen standard on my cello. Fuller, brighter, more overtones, bigger dynamic range. Also reminds me of a Gut A string somewhat that I tried once with a more raspy texture I really miss with the Gut.

Decent but not perfect

Pros: Retained good, bright tone quality without harshness of some other makes.

Cons: Not quite as nice a "feel" as the old Lycon strings but my supply of those has finally run out.

Excellent string. Speedy service. !0/10

Pros: Larsen 'Soloist' 'Cello A string I discovered the 'Soloist' A string about a year ago, and have been really impressed by the silky tone quality it has brought to my old French 'cello. This latest purchase was for an instrument belonging to one of my students, and it has improved the sound significantly. The String Zone, as usual, have come up trumps with a very speedy and efficient service. Thank you again!

Worth the price

Pros: Worth the price.. excellent sound quality. Made my previous cello (intermediate model of about 1000 euro) sound 100 times better. and again my present cello (about 3000 euro) sounds very good with it. All depends on the other strings though. it's amazing how changing one string can change the sound of all the others, good or bad! I'm using Larsen soloist's A and D and Spirocore tungsten G and C.

Cons: No Cons

Warm, mellow tone.
1 out of 2 found the following review helpful

Pros: The A Soloist Soft has a very mellow and warm sound that is my favourite of them all. I have tried every option of A on my cello. It's works extremely well on students cellos to soften the tone- or the normal soft A.

Cons: When it's worn out and past its best the sound becomes metallic .....

Other: One of the best strings around.
