Professional

Quality string on a warm viola for chamber music

Pros: Good, clear and strong string. Bright but not overly strident on my very warm sounding viola. Tuning settled reasonably quickly.

Cons: Although supposedly not having more tension than other strings that I'm used to, it somehow feels tighter and less open.

Other: Info if you're after a bright string for solo playing on a warm viola: Whilst the Evah D is quite powerful, it wasn't as bright as the D'addario Vivo strings that I used instead for a concerto. (I used Evahs on a brighter instrument that I used to have once and they were too shrill for that viola)

Loud string

Pros: Loud and responsive string - most D strings sound woolly on my viola

Cons: It took a while to stay in tune and the string feels quite thin an dflimsy under the fingers.
