Warm sound, good tuning stability.

Pros: Stay in tune after a couple of days, and nice warm sound.

Cons: Need replacing more frequently than other strings. Every couple of months or do if you practise every day.

Not tried them yet but I know they'll be good.

Pros: I haven't actually fitted these strings yet but I bought some a year or two ago and they've been brilliant. Lovely tone and stayed in tune through all kinds of adverse conditions.

Excellent service

Pros: The string set was warm soft and mellow. Just what I wanted. Thank you. The set were delivered on time.

Cons: There was nothing I didn't like, although a bought a wound E string separately which matches the tone of the others very well. I am delighted with the overall result

Other: I will definitely use the string zone again and would give you top marks

Warm clear sound - tuning stability

Pros: Having used Eudoxa for 10 years - lush rich sound that I loved, but very unstable in terms of tuning, Obligato are a revelation. Strings that stay in tune, whatever the temperature, however much it fluctuates, AND they still sound great on my 19th century German violin. I'd imagine they'd sound great on most/all instruments. I'm a synthetic string convert - should've made the switch years ago. The sound is clear, yet warm, and complex. Even across the strings. I bought the steel E and there's no infamous whistle. Phew. Fitted a complete set and they pretty much stayed in tune straight away. G, D and A took only 4-6 hours to "break in", if that. I'll be sticking with these for the foreseeable furture. They remove the stress that accompanies keeping gut-cored strings in tune; at least, that is my experience, on my violin.

Cons: Nothing to dislike about these really - the E string took about a week to fully settle down, but that's a minor quibble. If forced to find negatives, then in truth I still slightly prefer the sound of the gut-cored Eudoxa (when it stayed in tune), but that's just what I'm accustomed to hearing, and I'm more than happy to sacrifice the dark mellow tones of gut for the amazing tuning stability of Obligato, which still sounds very good indeed.

Other: Fantastic speedy service from The String Zone - instant despatch and next day delivery to the North of Scotland. Thank you. I'm impressed and will be back for sure!

Sweet even tone.

Pros: I have Pirastro Obligato strings on my cello, and I love their mellow sound. I play traditional music and have returned to fiddle playing, with an instrument that came to me after what looked like rough handling....I decided to try Obligatos and they have transformed the sound .My bashed wee fiddle sounds warm and sweet, across all strings. Friends have heard the fiddle and want to know what strings I am using. I have no hesitation in recommending Obligato strings.
