Pros: Cheap...
Cons: Do not stay tuned from session to session Tinny raucous sound Thin, almost no tactile feedback NOT a Dominant replacement
Other: I bought a set of these on the basis of the reviews here, seemed like they were a keenly priced substitute for Dominants. I have been using Dominants from Grade 1 and I am going back to them for Grade 5 and up. My current violin is just a nice beginner (Hidersine Giovanni), has a nice warm tone when played with Dominants. Sounds like a scratchy vinyl record with Tonicas. First time I have replaced a set of strings before they were even close to extinction but what a relief.

Pros: I like these strings, they settle in quickly and have a powerful tone. They're a touch less sweet toned than Dominants and are also thinner under the fingers
Cons: It is a gut reaction (pardon the pun) but I don't think they will last as long as a set of Dominants, but I could be proved wrong

Decent sounding set of strings at a good price

Pros: Using these strings an a Fender electric violin. Tone is surprisingly good from these relatively inexpensive strings.
Cons: The bow can be a bit 'slippy' along the string - probably because they are smoother strings than I am used to but still they are fine.

Pros: I haven't as yet tried these strings. They were bought as an emergency replacement. As a beginner, I haven't experienced enough of different strings to justify an intelligent comment.
Cons: None yet
