Warm tone to add depth to a bright instrument

Pros: Violino strings add real depth and warmth to my violin, which has an inherently bright tone. Being low tension, they are easy on the left hand fingertips, allow for greater exploration of tone colour, and allow the instrument to resonate a bit more freely than with higher tension strings.

Cons: Despite the rich tone these strings afford, they lack some power in fortissimo playing. The G in particular lacks the kind of power one might wish for in a piece such as Ravel's Tzigane, for example.

Other: They work great on my bright violin, but may sound dull on a more mellow instrument. Definitely worth a try if you are looking for more depth of sound!
