Professional

Dynamic strings - solid, reliable performance.

Pros: Warm, rich, dynamic sound that makes my violin sound fab. I've used these for a long time and I thought I'd try something different...what a mistake! Never again! I'm sticking to Evah Pirazzi in future.

Cons: Nothing.

Jury is still out

Pros: Strings with a powerful sound, they took a couple of days to play in

Cons: Not sure they suit my modern violin (Thomas Hoyer 2014) they lack warmth. I may go back to Obligato's

Other: I may go back to Obligato's having previously also tried the Larsen Virtuoso strings. This is costing me a fortune it may be cheaper to change my violin.

Professional

Vibrant & expensive

Pros: These strings respond with so much life - they work equally well on my acoustic and my electric, both instruments sound better

Cons: Price is inhibiting. If they weren't in the sale I'm not sure I'd be so pro these strings! Even then other professionals tell me there are cheaper yet equal alternatives...

Good choice of strings.

Pros: Great strings, good choice I checked around and this was the place where our violin teacher gets her strings too, so I knew I was at the right place.

Teacher

Disappointed!

Pros: The service was prompt

Cons: I'm disappointed with the sound, I find these harsh on my 200 year old violin, taking a long time to bed in and loud. People either love or hate them but for me I wish I'd stuck with Obligato which have a lovely warm sound on my instrument. I'm stuck with these for a while because of the price but I won't buy them again.
