Description

The market leader in professional grade orchestral strings. Set of 4 in medium tension. Choice of steel or gold plated E. Intense and brilliant sound with the widest possible dynamic range. These strings are best suited to advanced student and professional players and work best on high quality instruments.

Available in three tensions, Evah Pirazzi strings have a core made from a modern synthetic multifilament fibre which contributes to a very intensive and powerful sound. Ideally suited to orchestral and solo playing.

The strings have outstanding playability and exceptional response at any of the dynamic levels, a complex sound, rich with overtones based on a brilliant core sound and enormous projection.

Expressive, with great nuances and enormous dynamic range combined with outstanding tuning stability. These strings are absolutely insensitive to variations in temperature and humidity and are also suitable for electric violins or violins equipped with piezo-pickups

E-Goldsteel option: This string is more brilliant and powerful sound than the Silvery Steel E-string. This string has a different sound profile from Oliv and Obligato Goldsteel E-strings.

Below Pirastro explain the difference between the 3 Evah Pirazzi Offerings

Evah Pirazzi (2000): This set of strings is characterized by an overtone-rich, rather bright sound and a relatively strong background noise, which ensures carrying capacity, power and projection.

Evah Pirazzi Gold (2012): In contrast, these strings are designed to emphasize the warm, round and somewhat darker sound spectrum.

Evah Pirazzi Neo (2025): In this new development, the background noise of the original Evah Pirazzi is reduced while maintaining the strings’ full carrying capacity and power. Evah Pirazzi Neo is designed to combine effortless note and string transitions with easy response, tonal clarity and far-reaching projection.

Using a loop end E? The use of a protector to prevent the tuner hook breaking the string is essential with loop end E strings. We cannot accept claims for strings broken by the adjuster hook. Click here to purchase this item.

Grade 8+

Good balance between price and value.

Pros: I changed to these from Tomastik Dominant when I broke one and didn't have a replacement. My desk partner loaned me a PEP, being all she had. The single PEP string sounded better than the other three so I have stuck with them ever since. The are birght sounding, playable and project well in an orchestral setting. They are durable, and tune in fairly quickly when first installed.

Cons: Solo they can sound rather gritty, but that may be my technique. The E string always sounds a little feeble compared to the others (again that may be my technique). I wish the individual string packets were better labelled for ease when needing a rapid string change - I have had to highlight the appropriate part of the label, having learned from bitter experience.

Take your sound to a different higher level!

Pros: These strings transformed the sound of my violin straightaway. It became richer, more sonorous, and easier to play (fingers not have to press so hard it seemed). I am seldom so impressed with the difference a new acquisition makes to my life!

Cons: Nothing

Great sound (for now)!

Pros: Wanted to try out some new strings so decided to go for these - I've had them for about 3 weeks and the sound is really bright! Naturally that changes from instrument to instrument, but they seem to complement mine quite well. The projection is great! I've heard they don't last as long as other strings, but I haven't experienced that yet as not much time has passed. The price here is the cheapest I found (much cheaper than amazon or any music store near me) and the delivery was fine :)

Top quality strings at a keen price

Pros: Excellent value: it's a time since I needed new strings and I'd expected to have to pay more for this quality. Very well suited to my Maggini copy violin - full, firm tone from bottom to top, lovely for my favourite Brahms!

Cons: None

Amazing!

Pros: This is the best E string I’ve ever had. I love it. It just sings!

Cons: The D and G strings for this set took quite a while to break in and I’ve found it difficult to get a nice rich sound from those strings, but with more playing they are getting better.

Great sounding strings, let down by fragile A

Pros: Nice Texture to sound

Cons: A String ridiculously fragile, winding opening up and fraying at nut, don’t usually have this problem. Got a month out of string.
